Interrupt and help
In this document
Operation: Interrupt and help
The help material documents an INTERRUPT action using DEL or CTRL-C that aborts data entry without writing changes to the database. It also describes context-sensitive help through the F1 key and an exit path to the operating system. However, the supplied generated form classes do not show corresponding F1 event-handler logic, and the help examples may be historical or illustrative rather than executable Java behavior. These functions are therefore documented or intended behaviors, not fully runtime-confirmed behaviors in the supplied range. E0003 E0004
The source references help identifiers in the ranges 1001 through 1010 and 2001 through 2008, but the actual help file content is missing from some of the analyzed evidence. Where help text is available, it must be distinguished from implementation evidence; examples of Informix-4GL transactions, rollback, and key handling do not prove that equivalent Java paths execute. Harten documentation of the Informix 4GL and Java source repository, from the retained 17 October 2026 export. The exact upstream revision analysed is not established. Source findings do not establish runtime behaviour or equivalence between the implementations.
Evidence identifiers are retained for traceability. The underlying analysis records are not included in this public edition; credential values are redacted. About this case study.
