The main program defers interrupts, sets the help file to helpdemo, initializes print_option to s, loads states and stocks, invokes ring_menu, and displays the main menu. The menu provides Customer, Orders, Stock, Reports, and Exit. The first four invoke their respective routines and return to ring_menu. Exit clears the screen and terminates with EXIT PROGRAM. E0007
The bang command clears the menu display, repeatedly prompts for a command using “!”, runs the entered command with RUN cmd, and asks the user to press RETURN before continuing. The mess function displays supplied text at a specified row, sleeps for three seconds, and clears that position. ring_menu and unring_menu manage a horizontal menu indicator at row 4, column 2; ring_menu also displays a Control-W menu-help message. E0007
The demo function first calls ring_menu and then opens a DEMO menu. Its commands expose help or source descriptions for menus, windows, forms, detail scrolling, scroll cursor, query language, construct queries, and reports. Exit clears the screen and leaves the menu. E0007
