Help and executable source
In this document
Interface: Help and executable source
The help source documents the same main menu and customer, order, stock, and report capabilities, but it does not exactly match the executable source. One help item reportedly opens cust_form from customer, whereas the executable opens customer from custform. Another documents a state window at row 8, column 40, while statehelp uses row 8, column 37. A detail-scrolling example uses identifiers such as stock_manu and menu_code, while the executable order code uses manu_code. These differences support treating the help source as stale, illustrative, or from another revision; they do not alone establish a runtime defect. E0008
Harten documentation of the Informix 4GL and Java source repository, from the retained 17 October 2026 export. The exact upstream revision analysed is not established. Source findings do not establish runtime behaviour or equivalence between the implementations.
Evidence identifiers are retained for traceability. The underlying analysis records are not included in this public edition; credential values are redacted. About this case study.
