Order totals and charges

In this document

Rule: Order totals and charges

The order-total routine sums item amounts and then multiplies the result by 1.1. The source does not identify that multiplier as tax, shipping, surcharge, or another named business charge. Separately, invoice generation is reported to calculate sales tax at 6.5 percent and shipping at 3.5 percent. Those figures total ten percent, creating an unresolved inconsistency between the interactive total and the invoice calculation. The supplied evidence does not establish whether the multiplier is display-only, represents the two invoice components, adds a further charge, or causes double-counting. E0002

The help material also states that item totals exceeding 500 dollars are shown in reverse-video green during order entry. This is a presentation rule for significant line or item totals, not evidence of a pricing or approval threshold. E0003
