Capability hierarchy

In this document

Which business abilities exist, and which are parts of others?

This view presents Stock management as a business capability with four documented sub-capabilities: adding, finding, updating, and deleting stock items. The source shows these options under the stock-management menu, but each operation is explicitly reported as unimplemented in the available executable source. E0007 The broader documentation and interface material describes the same stock operations as part of the application’s intended scope, so they are retained as capabilities while their delivery status remains qualified. E0003 E0004

The hierarchy describes business scope and menu structure, not technical components or runtime deployment. The evidence is published source material rather than live inspection, and the framework and complete runtime context are not available for independent verification. E0002 E0004

Elements

Stock management

Kind: capability
Basis: reported
Description: The stock module provides a business area for adding, finding, updating, and deleting stock items; the executable source presents these operations in a stock menu, while reporting each handler as not implemented. E0007
Evidence: E0003, E0004, E0007

Add stock

Kind: capability
Basis: reported
Description: Adding stock is documented as an operation for adding new stock items to the database, but the available implementation only displays an “option has not been implemented” message. E0007
Evidence: E0003, E0007

Find stock

Kind: capability
Basis: reported
Description: Finding stock is documented as an operation for looking up a specific stock item, but the available query handler is reported as unimplemented. E0007
Evidence: E0003, E0007

Update stock

Kind: capability
Basis: reported
Description: Updating stock is documented as an operation for modifying current stock information, but the available update handler is reported as unimplemented. E0007
Evidence: E0003, E0007

Delete stock

Kind: capability
Basis: reported
Description: Deleting stock is documented as an operation for removing a stock item from the stock list or database, but the available delete handler is reported as unimplemented. E0007
Evidence: E0003, E0007

Relationships

Stock operations

From: Stock management
To: Add stock
Relation: contains
Basis: reported
Description: The stock-management menu includes Add-stock and invokes the add-stock operation from that menu. E0007
Evidence: E0007

Stock lookup

From: Stock management
To: Find stock
Relation: contains
Basis: reported
Description: The stock-management menu includes Find-stock and invokes the stock-query operation from that menu. E0007
Evidence: E0007

Stock modification

From: Stock management
To: Update stock
Relation: contains
Basis: reported
Description: The stock-management menu includes Update-stock and invokes the stock-update operation from that menu. E0007
Evidence: E0007

Stock removal

From: Stock management
To: Delete stock
Relation: contains
Basis: reported
Description: The stock-management menu includes Delete-stock and invokes the stock-delete operation from that menu. E0007
Evidence: E0007

Gaps

The evidence conflicts in emphasis: help and interface material describe stock add, find, update, and delete as intended operations, while the available executable handlers explicitly report all four as unimplemented. E0003 E0004 E0007 The hierarchy therefore represents documented business scope, not confirmed delivered functionality.

The supplied material does not establish whether any other stock-related ability belongs under Stock management, such as stock selection during order entry, because stock lookup for order entry is described separately from stock CRUD operations. E0002 E0007 The complete stock persistence schema and framework behavior are also absent, limiting confirmation of the business semantics behind these operations. E0001 E0002
