Which business abilities exist, and which are parts of others?
This view captures business abilities and only the parent/child relationships supported by the supplied material. Customer management, order entry, stock management, and reporting are presented as distinct business areas rather than technical components. E0001 E0003 The model preserves the difference between an ability documented or exposed by menus and an ability implemented in the retained source. E0002 E0004 E0007 Stock maintenance, order update/delete, backlog reporting, and stock-list reporting are therefore included only with explicit qualification because the evidence marks them unimplemented. Elements
Customer management
Kind: capability
Basis: reported
Description: Business ability for adding, finding, updating, and deleting customer records, with customer deletion constrained when related orders exist. E0001 E0007
Evidence: E0001, E0003, E0007
Customer maintenance
Kind: capability
Basis: reported
Description: Customer-focused maintenance ability covering customer creation, query or browse, update, deletion, and state selection. The retained source provides implementations for these operations, although the precise meaning of “active orders” remains unresolved because one implementation counts all related orders. E0002 E0007
Evidence: E0002, E0007
Order entry
Kind: capability
Basis: reported
Description: Business ability for entering an order for a selected or newly created customer, collecting order-header data and line items, and generating an invoice after successful insertion. E0001 E0002 E0007
Evidence: E0001, E0002, E0007
Order creation
Kind: capability
Basis: reported
Description: Implemented order-entry ability that collects order date, purchase-order number, shipping instructions, stock items, manufacturer codes, and quantities before inserting the order and its items. E0002 E0007
Evidence: E0002, E0007
Customer-order viewing
Kind: capability
Basis: reported
Description: Ability to find and view orders associated with a selected customer, including order details and associated items. E0002 E0007
Evidence: E0002, E0007
Stock management
Kind: capability
Basis: reported
Description: Business area for adding, finding, updating, and deleting stock items. The menu and documented scope exist, but each retained stock handler reports that the option is not implemented. E0001 E0002 E0003 E0007
Evidence: E0001, E0002, E0003, E0007
Stock item maintenance
Kind: capability
Basis: reported
Description: Intended stock-maintenance ability covering stock addition, lookup, modification, and removal; the supplied executable source marks all four operations as unimplemented. E0002 E0003 E0007
Evidence: E0002, E0003, E0007
Reporting
Kind: capability
Basis: reported
Description: Business area for producing customer and order-related reports with file, printer, or screen destinations. The retained implementation supports mailing labels and accounts receivable; other listed report types are not implemented. E0001 E0002 E0007
Evidence: E0001, E0002, E0007
Mailing labels
Kind: capability
Basis: reported
Description: Implemented reporting ability that selects customers and produces mailing labels ordered by ZIP code, with file, printer, and screen output options. E0002 E0007
Evidence: E0002, E0007
Accounts receivable reporting
Kind: capability
Basis: reported
Description: Implemented reporting ability that selects unpaid orders and produces accounts-receivable output grouped by customer and order. E0007
Evidence: E0007
Backlog reporting
Kind: capability
Basis: reported
Description: Documented reporting option, but the retained source explicitly reports that backlog generation is not implemented. E0002 E0003 E0007
Evidence: E0002, E0003, E0007
Stock-list reporting
Kind: capability
Basis: reported
Description: Documented reporting option, but the retained source explicitly reports that stock-list generation is not implemented. E0002 E0003 E0007
Evidence: E0002, E0003, E0007
Relationships
Customer management contains customer maintenance
From: Customer management
To: Customer maintenance
Relation: contains
Basis: inferred
Description: Customer maintenance is treated as the operational child of customer management because the evidence describes customer management through customer creation, finding, updating, and deletion activities. E0001 E0002
Evidence: E0001, E0002
Order entry contains order creation
From: Order entry
To: Order creation
Relation: contains
Basis: inferred
Description: Order creation is the implemented entry flow within the broader order-entry ability: it collects the order header and line items, persists them, and generates an invoice. E0002 E0007
Evidence: E0002, E0007
Order entry contains customer-order viewing
From: Order entry
To: Customer-order viewing
Relation: contains
Basis: inferred
Description: Customer-based order viewing is exposed as part of the orders workflow, where orders are selected and displayed for a customer. E0002 E0007
Evidence: E0002, E0007
Stock management contains stock item maintenance
From: Stock management
To: Stock item maintenance
Relation: contains
Basis: inferred
Description: Stock item maintenance represents the add, find, update, and delete operations described under the stock-management menu; their business scope is supported, but their implementation is explicitly absent. E0003 E0007
Evidence: E0003, E0007
Reporting contains mailing labels
From: Reporting
To: Mailing labels
Relation: contains
Basis: inferred
Description: Mailing labels are one of the report functions implemented under the reporting area. E0002 E0007
Evidence: E0002, E0007
Reporting contains accounts receivable reporting
From: Reporting
To: Accounts receivable reporting
Relation: contains
Basis: inferred
Description: Accounts receivable is one of the report functions implemented under the reporting area. E0002 E0007
Evidence: E0002, E0007
Reporting contains backlog reporting
From: Reporting
To: Backlog reporting
Relation: contains
Basis: inferred
Description: Backlog reporting is listed as a reporting option, but the corresponding function explicitly reports that it is not implemented. E0002 E0003 E0007
Evidence: E0002, E0003, E0007
Reporting contains stock-list reporting
From: Reporting
To: Stock-list reporting
Relation: contains
Basis: inferred
Description: Stock-list reporting is listed as a reporting option, but the corresponding function explicitly reports that it is not implemented. E0002 E0003 E0007
Evidence: E0002, E0003, E0007
Gaps
The evidence does not establish whether “active orders” means all orders or only open, unpaid, or otherwise active orders; the retained customer-deletion query counts all orders for the customer. E0002 The evidence also distinguishes documented or menu-level abilities from implemented runtime behavior, so the hierarchy should not be read as proof that every listed capability is operational. E0002 E0004 E0006 The supplied material does not establish additional parent/child relationships between customer management, order entry, stock management, and reporting beyond the relationships shown here. E0002 E0004 E0006
Recovery limitations
- The view includes explicitly marked inference.
