Lifecycle states
In this document
Which states can a business object enter, and what triggers or guards each change?
This view covers the lifecycle of the Order business object only. The supplied evidence shows order creation, customer-based order viewing, an order backlog field, and accounts-receivable selection of orders whose paid_date is null. It does not name a complete set of Order lifecycle states or show executable state-changing operations beyond insertion E0007.
Order update and deletion are exposed as menu options but display “This option has not been implemented”; the same limitation is documented in the help material E0002 E0003 E0007. Successful order insertion includes transaction start, order and item insertion, commit, and invoice generation, but the evidence does not assign a named lifecycle state during or after that operation E0007.
Accordingly, no state element or transition is included. Backlog status and unpaid selection are retained as unresolved lifecycle clues rather than promoted to authoritative states. This avoids treating a field, report predicate, or known label as proof of a state transition E0004 E0006 E0007.
Elements
No supported Order lifecycle state is established by the supplied evidence E0002 E0003 E0007.
Relationships
No supported Order state transition is established by the supplied evidence E0002 E0003 E0007.
Gaps
- The evidence does not provide an authoritative enumeration of Order states or identify an initial or terminal state E0002 E0003 E0007.
backlogis present among order fields and report concepts, but no source evidence proves that it is a lifecycle state or shows a transition into or out of it E0004 E0006.- Accounts receivable selects orders with
paid_datenull, but no operation that setspaid_dateor transitions an order to a paid state is supplied E0007. - Order insertion is implemented, including commit and invoice generation, but the inserted order’s lifecycle status is not named or assigned in the supplied evidence E0007.
- Order update and deletion are explicitly unimplemented, so they cannot supply supported transitions E0002 E0003 E0007.
- The missing framework, schema, and companion artifacts prevent confirmation of whether omitted persistence logic or status handling exists elsewhere E0002 E0003 E0004.
Recovery limitations
- No supported relationships reconstructed.
